Eviction

The reasons for the eviction can be any number of different things such as, non-payment of rent, holding over from an expired lease, drug use on the premises, holding over from expiration of redemption rights following a foreclosure or the landlord simply wishes to terminate the lease.

Under Michigan law an eviction can be accomplished in several different ways. Evictions require either a 7 day notice to quit for non-payment of rent or a 30 day notice to terminate tenancy. Once the time period passes and the tenant does not move you a landlord can initiate eviction proceedings.
